SYNDESMOS Executive Committee, Athens, Greece

The Executive Committee, meeting in Athens, 1 - 5 June 2001, the weekend of the feast of Pentecost, was kindly hosted in the Youth Camp of SYNDESMOS member movements - Orthodox Christian Unions and the Student & Scientist Christian Association.

This is the second time that the Executive Committee has met since the start of the current administration. Agenda items included a study of reactions to the withdrawal of Emmanouil, and of ways to strengthen links with member movements, as well as discussion of the process of establishing a possible Association of Theological Schools, and the intitial study process for a SYNDESMOS General Assembly in 2003.

A highlight of the weekend was the meeting with his Beatitude Archbishop Christodoulos - a fine opportunity for discussion with his Beatitude on SYNDESMOS activities and future plans. His Beatitude assured us of his support of SYNDESMOS, and warmly encouraged us in our work.
