FRANCE "Jeunesse Orthodox du Midi" (Orthodox Youth of the South of France - JOM) camp out for long week-end Eyguieres - From 28 April - 1 May, 26 teenagers from JOM gathered in the hills around Eyguieres, a village of the Alpilles in Provence, for a Youth Camp in the heart of the countryside. Introductions during the first morning were aided by the communal task of pitching the tents, under the supervision of young leaders Charlotte and Catherine, kept in check by Bernard, whose trumpet skills were perfect for gathering the participants at the start and finish of activities. The programme included catechism (three sessions in all), and organised walks - to give participants the opportunity to discover and learn the names of species of trees and flowers, and even to recognize the song of the nightingale and of the finch. The evenings were spent sitting by the camp-fire, discussing issues related to the Church, and enjoying each-other's company. Good fortune was on their side: it did not rain; not, at least, until the last participants had been taken home! The next thing to look forward to for the youth of JOM, after such
