Bohumil Voprsalek named Deputy Secretary-General


Bohumil Voprsalek has been named Deputy Secretary-General of SYNDESMOS. The position of Deputy Secretary-General was cre-ated at the SYNDESMOS Board meeting in Vilemov, Czech Republic, in November 1999. The Secretary-General
and Deputy undertake clearly defined tasks according to their job descriptions. The Deputy Secretary-General works alongside
the Secretary-General.
Bohumil was born in Michalovce, Slovakia, in 1972. He holds a Masters degree in Orthodox Theol-ogy from the University of Presov. For the past seven years he has been deeply involved in the Fellowship of Orthodox Youth in Slovakia, serving as President from 1995-1997. In 1999 he was named Director of the newly established Orthodox Academy in Slovakia.
Since the early days of his involvement in SYNDESMOS ac-tivities Bohumil has been a key contributor to the work of the Fellowship in regional and international events, particularly in the field of training. He has organised training courses in Central and
Eastern Europe and language courses in partnership with Lingua Franca. He was elected Regional Representative for the Central
European Region at the XVI General Assembly, a position which he held until his appointment as Deputy Secretary-General.
