Board of Administration holds first meeting since XVI Assembly


VILEMON, CZECH REPUBLIC - The first SYNDESMOS Board of Adminstration meeting since the XVI General Assembly in July 1999 was held at the Orthodox Academy of the Monastery of the Dormition of the mother of God here 4-7 November 199. A key item on the meeting's agenda was the appointment of a new Secretary-General to replace Mr. Vladimir Misijuk and the relocation of the General Secretariat for the current quadriennium.
Board Members made full use of the time available for intense discussion. They also contributed to and participated in the Youth Worker Training held concurrently with the Board meeting.
The Governing Board decided to create the new position of Deputy Secretary-General in addition to that of Secretary-General. Board members decided to appoint Ms. Rebecca Hookway of the Great Britain to the position of Secretary-General and Mr.Bohumil Voprsalek of Slovakia to that of Deputy Secretary-General. It was also decided that the General Secretariat will be relocated from Bialystok, Poland to Athens, Greece, in March 2000.
Board members also finalised the SYNDESMOS 2000 Calendar.
